災害・復興科学研究所教員がEU Erasmus+プログラムによりクロアチアのスプリット大学とザグレブ大学で講演を行いました

2026年4月24日から5月4日にわたり，災害・復興科学研究所の渡部直喜准教授，片岡香子教授と博士後期課程大学院生のKrishnaveni Bijuさんの3名がクロアチアを訪問し，スプリット大学とザグレブ大学において講演を行いました。講演内容は，2024年能登半島地震による斜面崩壊，新潟市の広域液状化災害のほか，新潟県の地すべり研究や活火山で発生する土石流災害など，多岐にわたりました。
ザグレブでは2020年のザグレブ地震で被害が発生したこともあり，2024年能登半島地震と1964年新潟地震で発生した新潟市内の広域液状化被害について，熱心に質問と議論が交わされました。また，受け入れ研究者のスプリット大学Goran Vlastelica准教授の案内で，スプリット郊外の小規模崩壊地の現地見学も行いました。今回のクロアチア訪問は，教員・研究者による学術交流と学生交流を促進するための，EU Erasmus+（エラスムスプラス）によるスプリット大学と災害・復興科学研究所との交換プログラムの一環で行われました。災害・復興科学研究所は，クロアチアの大学と長年の研究交流実績があります。今後もさまざまな形で学術交流や共同研究を推進していきます。
From April 4 to 8, 2026, three members of our institute—Associate Professor Naoki Watanabe, Professor Kyoko Kataoka and PhD candidate Ms. Krishnaveni Biu—visited the University of Split and the University of Zagreb in Croatia to give lectures. The lectures covered a wide range of topics, including the impacts of the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake such as landslides and liquefaction as well as research topics of landslides in Niigata and lahars generated by the recent volcanic eruptions in Japan
Croatia experienced severe damages by the 2020 Zagreb earthquake, and therefore, the audience was enthused by the topic of extensive liquefaction damages in Niigata city both by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and the 1964 Niigata Earthquake. In addition, Associate Professor Goran Vlastelica of the University of Split, who hosted the visit, guided a short field trip to the coastal areas of Split to understand the most recent hazards by shallow landslides and their background geology. Through the EU Erasmus+ program, which promotes academic exchanges and staff/student mobility, our instituite deepened exchanges with the University of Split and the University of Zagreb. Our institute and Croatian universities already have a long history of collaborative research achievements, and we will continue to promote active academic exchange and joint research in the future.
